doomby is an online tool for making a website.

Normally, to make a website you'd have to get lots of different software and learn programming languages, making it a difficult thing for most people to do. doomby makes it easy to make your own website as everything is provided online, in one spot. You just add content, apply the text formatting and page layouts you want, and we'll take care of the rest (including hosting). Making a website with doomby is just like using a word processor. And best of all, it's free.

The Report illegal content link isn't specific to your website, so don't worry that yours has one - everyone's does, and it's there to discourage misuse of doomby's services. If you'd like to remove this link from your website, you can subscribe to doombyPLUS directly, or get more information, from the doombyPLUS menu of your website manager.

You're welcome to add advertising if you'd like to, though remember not to overdo it or you may wind up chasing your visitors away. doombyPLUS subscribers can replace the banner at the top of their website, and the ads in the side menus, with the advertising of their choice. If you have a Google AdSense account, just add your account code to the Site > Monetize menu and let Google and doomby do the work for you.

There are lots of people you can get help from to make a website. Firstly, there's the doomby community (fellow doombians, just like you). They use doomby too, so they're a great source of information. Ask your question on the doomby forum if it hasn't been asked already; you'll find the other doomby webmasters are more than willing to help out. You can add as many web pages as you'd like to your doomby website. You can store up to 100MB of page images in your online file storage space, independently of the 400-image limit for your album. You also get an additional 10MB of online space to store other files.

doombyPLUS members get 1GB for page images, 300MB for other files (doc, pdf, xls, mp3, mpeg, swf, fla, zip, rar, mov, xml, txt, rtf, pps, ppt, flv, jpg, gif, png, tif, psd, mpg, mp4, avi, wav, mid, midi, exe, ace, ai, bmp, css, csv, rtf, txt, eps, htm, html, ico, jpeg, ppt, rss, wmv), and a 2000-image quota for photo albums. The maximum file upload size for members with free doomby accounts and doombyPLUS subscribers is the same: 8MB.

doomby is an online website making tool, managed entirely using a web browser. You can't transfer files or other content using FTP. The hosting included with a doomby website is transparent, so you don't have to worry about managing your online folder hierarchies and securing their access. Everything you'll need to design and create a website with doomby is included already, right there in your member zone.

Of course you can! doomby is designed with beginners in mind, so anyone can get online and make their own website - without having to spend hours pouring over books. You don't need to know anything about HTML; doomby's visual WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) tools are just like the ones you use with a word processor.

It won't cost you anything to make and host a website using doomby. There are no hidden costs, and the support services are entirely free. It's up to you to decide if you'd like to add extra services, such as doombyPLUS subscription (which will give you a host of extras and removes all advertising from your website) or a personalized domain name. You don't need to install anything extra - doomby is an online website building and managing tool. From any web browser, just sign into your member zone to add content (like text, images and videos) to your pages using simple visual tools. As soon as you've saved your changes, they're available online straight away, so you can upload an image to your website and a friend or family member can see it on your website instantly.

Your website is online (and can be visited by anyone with its address) as soon as you've finished signing up. When registration is complete, you can also immediately access your website administration - or member zone - to personalize your website content.

Your username will form the first part of your website's address (which will look like yourusername.doomby.com). It can only contain lower-case letters and numbers - no "special" or accentuated characters (things like dots, brackets, inverted commas etc.) are allowed. It has to be unique, and if you try to enter a username during registration that's unavailable, you'll be invited to choose another one. If your heart is set on a particular username that's already taken, you can always try to add some meaningful numbers to the end of it (as in yourusername38). At any time after you create your first website, you can always get a personalized domain name to make it even easier for visitors to remember your website address.

Signing up is easy, and you can do it here.

The first thing you need to do is to think about what name you'd like for your website. The username you choose during registration will become the first part of your website address.
Once you've chosen an available username, you'll need to make up a password (don't forget to write it down somewhere!), provide your e-mail address. That's it! Your website is now activated.

As soon as you've finished registration, you will automatically be connected to your member zone where you can get started configuring your website.

You can password-protect your website by subscribing to doombyPLUS. From the Settings > Global settings > Site access menu, you'll just need to check the appropriate box to block access to your website, and a field to enter the access password. Once you've set up the access, make sure you give this password to everyone you want to be able to access the site.
